Bibles for Mideast is proving to be precious and effective fruit borne of the prayers of God’s children for the evangelism of the Middle East, south Asia and parts of Africa. While many of these countries remain dead-set against the propagation of the Gospel, thank God that in some areas that is changing. Days and nights of prayer and fasting have opened doors for bible distribution, evangelism and house-church planting, though most work remains highly secret.

Around 17 nations comprise the Middle East, with a total population of approximately 500 million. Islam remains the largest religion, but thousands upon thousands of people now secretly believe in Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Living in mostly highly-restricted areas, they hunger and thirst for the Word of God. Many governments in the region totally prohibit owning or distributing bibles.

By God’s grace, Bibles for Mideast secretly purchases or collects bibles, distributes them free of charge, evangelizes wherever possible, and establishes house churches for new believers. Volunteer ministers and a number of gospel teams operate in the Middle East and some other countries in Asia and Africa.

Many team members have converted to Christianity from Islam, some from Hinduism, and all operate freely in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Experienced in effective personal evangelism, they also conduct crusades and pastor house churches.  Once house churches are established, they come under the banner of the nondenominational  Assembly of Loving God (ALG) Church, led by Pastor Peter Haneef.

“Then Agrippa said to Paul, ‘You almost persuade me to become a Christian.’ And Paul said, ‘I would to God that not only you, but also all who hear me today, might become both almost and altogether such as I am, except for these chains.’ ” (Acts 26:28-29)

The power of prayer and fasting

Pastor Paul, the founder of Bibles for Mideast and himself a convert from Islam, has labored in the Lord Jesus Christ’s vineyard for over 40 years. While a bout with leukemia sidelined him briefly, after a miraculous healing he was readier than ever to get going again. While his family urged rest, the Lord—in a visionary experience lasting three days—told him to return to the field. Knowing the power of God to rescue him from sin, deception and death, he also knew God had appointed him an ambassador to those from similar backgrounds. He was to return to the harvest especially to gather in those from the Muslim world of the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Pastor Paul shared this vision with some of his praying friends. The group—he with nine other born-again men already engaged in evangelistic activities—decided to have a season of fasting and prayer for further guidance.  Five of the nine had converted from Islam, three had been born into Christian families and one came from a Hindu background. From that season of prayer and fasting,  Bibles for Mideast was born.

Since then, Pastor Paul, Pastor Peter Haneef and many of our other dedicated workers have had their lives spared miraculously after vicious attacks and/or imprisonment. You can find many of these stories on this website.

Mission and Administration

A nine-member Board of Directors governs the ministry. Several gospel teams, all volunteers, work in hundreds of places. Our website manager/writer/communications director, also a volunteer, works from Canada.

The Board gathers twice a month to evaluate progress and submit reports and accounts. Many board and team members labor for their own livelihoods alongside their ministry work. By faith, they surrender their incomes before the mission.

“I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles.” (Phil 4: 10-14)

Now is the time to spread the Word of God. Now is the time to bring people into His fold. Each and every person must hear the Word of God before Jesus returns. Let’s rush to reach the unreached! The Kingdom of God is near.
